Today I am the subject of an interview over at Dawn G. Sparrow’s Write Away. Dawn is a friend from AQConnect and in addition to the usual “author questions,” she throws in a few zingers. Come on over and find out something nobody knew about me . . . until now.
Just in case you live on Guernsey in the English Channel (or for that matter anywhere in the UK as they are the UK’s largest dedicated online bookseller with the largest range of titles in the world) I am happy to say The Book Depository now has The Sister Queens for pre-order. Their website tells me (and I am willing to believe it as I have no inclination to count the days myself) that I am now 224 days from my launch day!
But seriously, you do not need to live in the UK to order The Sister Queens (or any other title) from the Book Depository. They ship FREE to an amazing number of countries through out the world.
Although the release of my novel, The Sister Queens, is still months away, I am delighted to say that several historical fiction book bloggers have already featured the book.
Amy at Passages to the Past was the first to jump—snagging a sneak peek of my cover for her readers from the NAL Winter catalog. Daphne at Tanzanite’s Castle was kind enough to add The Sister Queens to her July 7th wish list. And my fellow AQConnect member Layinda added my novel to her recommended reads. Thanks ladies!
Choosing next year’s selections for your book club? Consider The Sister Queens. Sophie would be happy to visit your club virtually or (in limited locations) personally to answer questions and talk about her work.
On March 6th Sophie’s debut hit shelves. Bestselling author Michelle Moran calls THE SISTER QUEENS “without a doubt, one of the best novels I’ve read all year!” Visit the “Books” tab to read more praise for the novel.
Greetings readers, writers, and history lovers of every type. My name is Sophie Perinot, and I am a multi-published novelist. Have a look in the “My Books” section of this website to discover my work.
I have three grand passions – writing, family, and history. As an author I draw upon these to create novels set in the past but driven by the timeless issues and complex family relationships that continue to mold, nurture, and exasperate people today.
When I pick up a novel I want to be diverted. When that novel takes me to
the past I also want to learn about the period in which it is set and the historical figures who people it. But most of all I seek stories and situations that resonate in my own life, giving me a better understanding of myself and others. What I desire myself as a reader I seek to provide to others as a writer. I hope that my novels, Médicis Daughter and The Sister Queens, will entertain, educate and elucidate.
This website is designed to supplement my books – offering you a behind-the-scenes glimpse of my writing process, extra information on settings and historical subjects relevant to my novels, and links to additional resources. If you have wandered here as a fellow writer, I hope you will find my links to writing resources and writing-centric blog entries useful in your on-going creative journey. If you visit as a reader, please be in touch. I am always interested in readers’ thoughts and reactions to my work.
MÉDICIS DAUGHTER—ORDER NOW
MÉDICIS DAUGHTER by Sophie Perinot is set in a 16th century France twisting under the serpentine rule of Catherine de Médicis. At a court seething with intrigue and riven by religious war, beautiful Princess Margot walks the knife edge between the demands of her dangerous family, and the demands of her own conscience. The novel is a “coming-of-age tale where the princess learns to slay her own dragons.” (Kate Quinn, Bestselling author) [more]
